Styled by Tara: Pantone color of the year 2017
Posted on December 30 2016
The color Greenery has been announced as Pantone’s 2017 color of the year. With a fresh and revitalizing hue evoking spring foliage, Greenery is a natural, modern neutral. Coming on the heels of Rose Quartz and Serenity, the Pantone colors of 2016, Greenery is a welcome, vibrant departure from the softer tones popular this past year.
Greenery has already been linked to several “re” words - revitalize, refresh, renew, regenerate, reinvigorate - and I hope you draw inspiration from some of our picks for incorporating Greenery in your wardrobe and surroundings.
The yellow-green hue has always been a favorite of artists, not only for nature but for the cool counter-balance it provides in still life paintings and portraits. Green is also an enduring presence in home decor; just one leaf-green item can bring a room alive so it’s no wonder this shade has made the transition to the fashion world. Fern leaf, lime zest, wheatgrass…name your shade and have fun with color in 2017! It can be paired with neutrals, brights, deeper shades, pastels and metallics.
Best wishes for a happy and fashionable new year!
