Popular East Coast boutique brings pop-up to the Shops at Kenilworth

Middleburg, Virginia - December 1, 2016

lou lou is expanding to the Baltimore area with a holiday pop-up at the Shops at Kenilworth in Towson, MD. A premier place to shop for gifts and women’s accessories, the boutique will occupy an 800 square foot space and open its doors today.

“We have six locations in Washington, DC, two in Annapolis, MD, and one in Bethesda, MD, so it is about time we open our first location in the Baltimore area,” according to Ben Wegdam, owner of lou lou. “The Shops at Kenilworth is a top boutique shopping destination in the Baltimore area and the center is undergoing a total renovation. We are very excited to be part of this and look forward to serving many more customers in Maryland.”

Known for offering a selection of stylish and affordable women’s accessories in a boutique setting, the first lou lou opened its doors in Middleburg, Virginia in 2004. “Empowering others” is the focus of fundraising; charity causes will be selected six times a year Middleburg, Virginia - October 10, 2016 lou lou, the independent retailer of women’s accessories with nearly 30 locations across the East coast, is embarking on a new program to raise funds for charity causes.
The lou lou gives back program will spotlight one charity-focused product every other month. The charity and its product will be featured in the stores and online during a two weeks period, and 100% of the sales proceeds will go towards the charity. “The lou lou gives back program is our way of helping these great causes get the attention they deserve,” said Tara Wegdam, owner of lou lou. “Every week we welcome more than 50,000 customers in our stores, so hopefully we will provide the necessary exposure to grow these organizations,” Wegdam remarked. The first organization to be featured is Thistle Farms, with the kickoff event in stores and online on Saturday, October 15th.
Thistle Farms is a community of women who are healing from abuse, trafficking and addiction in Nashville TN. Started in 1997 by Rev. Becca Stevens, Thistle Farms includes a two-year residential program and advocacy services for hundreds of women. “We chose to feature the ‘Love Heals’ Thistle Farms travel kit in our stores and online so that 100 percent of the proceeds can go towards helping women in need,” said Wegdam. “The message of women helping women resonates with both our employees and customers and we are thrilled to raise money to empower others,” Wegdam added.
